High Performance Vision Exam

This exam tests every facet of an athlete's visual system. Your doctor will schedule a more extensive exam to address specific elements of the visual system, which may improve performance for all levels of athletic endeavors.  Through a multi-tiered approach your doctor will work to address sports specific eyewear needs, contact lenses materials, spectacle lens materials designed to achieve maximum visual potential.

A more in-depth approach to your visual system may also be desired.  Programs can be developed for the more serious athlete, which looks at vision, vision correction, eye muscle alignment and ability, eye teaming, depth perception, visual memory, peripheral vision, sensory motor skills and ocular health.

Eye Protection

Eye Care Associates also has the latest in athletic eye wear to protect an athlete's eyes. Just think about it - a ball, a head and a piece of breakable plastic or metal in front of our child's eyes. We often seen many kids playing in their "everyday" glasses when they should really be wearing something that can withstand being hit with a ball or an elbow. At Eye Care Associates, we like to think safety and protection.

Our Sports Specialists

Dr. Michael Peters leads much of Eye Care Associates' sports vision efforts with the Carolina Hurricanes and practices in our Wakefield office.  Dr. Peters is also joined in the Hurricanes locker room by Dr. Jason Price who practices in our Louisburg office.

Eye Care Associates' work in sports vision goes back almost 30 years with Dr. Stephen Bolick providing exams to athletes for two US Olympic teams. What our doctors have learned from these elite athletes benefits our patients at all levels of performance.
